Update on Matthew

Standard

It seems that a lot of folks have been kind enough to keep up with news related to Matthew and his recovery. Thank you! He has finally been allowed to go home, but is on strict bedrest as pieces of his skull have not yet been reattached. Apparently this will happen during a surgery next week. Please keep sending him your prayers. I don’t know how his brother managed to talk the doctors into letting him take Matthew home. In Japan that would be absolutely unheard of, as they like to have you hospitalized for AGES beyond what is medically necessary, but I digress. Anyway, as musicians the boys are not financially set by any stretch of the imagination, and as luck would have it, they don’t have medical insurance either. I completely understand that most people can only afford to send prayers and good vibes to someone they don’t know or have never met, however if his story has pulled on your heartstrings just a little bit, and you can afford to show this man just a little bit of the kindness he deserves, donations can be made here: http://www.sweetrelief.org/news/sweet-relief-helping-raise-money-matthew-leone-madina-lake

Thanks again for all the support and well wishes! Oh! And an arrest has been made in connection with the assault. Charges haven’t been filed yet, but the police are working on it apparently. The bastard that did this to him is the one who should be paying all his medical bills, alas I don’t think it’s quite that simple. I’m sure the asshole is regretting ever laying a hand on Matthew though with all of the news and hubbub surrounding the story. I honestly hope he gets what he deserves, along with some good lovin’ from his cell mates, in prison!

About Brenda in Nagano

Originally from Chicago, I knew I was destined to spend the rest of my life in Japan the moment I set foot in the country at the tender age of 16. However, I was quite intent on spending that rest of my life in a major city with a full on career, until my Japanese Prince Charming came trotting down from the mountains of Nagano to sweep me off my feet and whisk me away, turning my whole life plan on its head. Two months after moving to Nagano I gave birth to our little Princess Charming, so now I am officially a SAHM and teach a little belly dance on the side.
